WinStar Owned and operated by the Chickasaw Nation, WinStar World Casino and Resort is a Native American casino situated in the heart of ‘Chickasaw Country’ in Thackerville, Oklahoma in the South Central region of the United States. Indeed, with a casino floor covering an eye-watering 600,000 square feet, WinStar is not only the largest casino in the United States, but the largest casino in the world.

Opened in 2004, WinStar conveniently divides its vast gaming space into nine, individually-themed areas, which casino authorities call ‘plazas’. All told, the casino floor holds nearly 100 gaming tables, offering blackjack, craps, midi-baccarat, pai gow poker and three card poker among others. Card players should note that, legally, WinStar must levy an ante of $0.50 or $1, depending on the table limit, on each hand played. Winstar also features nearly 7,500 of the latest, state-of-the-art electronic gaming machines including, of course, slot machines and video poker machines.

In the so-called ‘New York Betting Plaza’, a dedicated, smoke-free poker room covers 19,000 square feet and includes nearly 50 poker tables; Texas hold’em poker tournaments are held on a daily basis. Next to the poker room, a 650-seater bingo hall offers regular sessions every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, while other attractions include an off-track horse racing betting plaza, offering simulcast coverage of major races worldwide on individual, flat-screen televisions.
